See No Evil
'See No Evil' is a compelling true-crime documentary series that focuses on murders and violent crimes solved through the power of surveillance video and CCTV — crimes where the “silent witness” of security cameras catches what witnesses, memories, or even victims cannot, and helps investigators piece together what really happened. The show combines real surveillance footage, interviews with law-enforcement officers, eyewitnesses and families, along with reconstructions and expert testimony, to reveal how video evidence cracks murder cases.
The series is produced by Arrow Media for Investigation Discovery (ID).
It first aired in 2015 and — as of recent seasons — continues to run, demonstrating the enduring appeal of its forensic, real-world approach. In the UK, episodes of 'See No Evil' are available on streaming services such as ID / Investigation Discovery and platforms like Discovery+, and are also listed on services like Prime Video when available.
As an Assistant Producer on 'See No Evil', my role was key to bringing these stories to screen. I was charged with sourcing cases that fit the show’s specific criteria — in particular, crimes where CCTV or surveillance footage played a central role in solving the case. I had to find and contact the people involved in these cases, organise and conduct interviews (victims’ families, eyewitnesses, police, etc.), and secure access to crime-scene evidence, photos, footage and audio through record requests — often liaising with American police departments and navigating aspects of the U.S. legal system and police protocols. I also created filming schedules for the U.S.-based production team, organised GV (general video) lists and interview locations, ensuring that on-the-ground filming in the U.S. was well planned and coordinated.
My contribution helped ensure that each episode not only showcased the factual evidence via CCTV, but also honoured the human stories behind the footage — combining rigorous investigative production with sensitivity toward those affected.
